Volunteer Opportunities in Edmonton

The Cerebral Palsy Association in Alberta (CPAA) offers volunteer opportunities for one-time events, ongoing programs or office-based work. Volunteers play a fundamental role in the programs and services that we offer to our members and the community. Without volunteers, our weekly programs cannot run and there is an opportunity for individuals of all abilities to become volunteers.

By volunteering with us, you are a positive representation of our organization in the office, the community and especially in the lives of other people. Volunteering with the CPAA is an opportunity to use your personal interests and skills towards creating a Life without Limits for individuals with cerebral palsy and other disabilities.

  • If any of our volunteer opportunities interest you, please contact Mara Pawluk at 780-222-6654 or mara@cpalberta.com

Music Therapy Assistant

Become a rock star in the eyes of our members! As a Music Therapy Assistant, the volunteer will work directly with a Music Therapist in a year-round program that employs singing, dancing, instrument-playing and making themed crafts as stress-reducing, therapeutic techniques.

Music Therapy volunteers should be outgoing and may be required to sing and dance with participants, as well as help them play instruments and make fun crafts. Musical aptitude is a highly desirable trait in volunteers, as engaging the class by playing songs on a guitar or piano and singing for the class helps while the Music Therapist works one-to-one (1:1) with participants.

Dates: Ongoing, Tuesdays
Time: 1pm – 2pm
Location: Winnifred Stewart Association (Gym) 11130 -131 St Gym (upstairs 1st level)
