Why have a Computer Access Program? The short answer: To learn about computers and have fun! The longer answer: The goal of CPAA's Computer Access Program is for people with disabilities to be able to access computers, to feel comfortable using them, and to become connected to the Internet. This is important for many reasons. People with disabilities face many barriers in challenging the attitudes and events that shape their lives. The knowledge of computers and the Internet has become more important in our society. Without this knowledge people with disabilities will continue to struggle against the barriers they face on a daily basis. Our Computer Access Program seeks to reduce and hopefully, eliminate some of those barriers. The CAP Program is a part of a larger program called Connecting Canadians which has as its goal to make Canada a country connected by the Internet.
