As always, this annual event provides the opportunity for members, family, friends and coworkers to come together for a day of fun, exercise and a little friendly competition all the while helping to raise funds for the Cerebral Palsy Association in Alberta. With local celebrities, entertainment and delicious food on hand, this is an event geared for people of all ages and abilities - where the goal is not to be the first to cross the finish line, but to participate in your own way and have a great time!

With cerebral palsy affecting 1 in 400 children born each year in Alberta, the need to reach people affected by CP and provide support becomes increasingly important. Community support will allow the Cerebral Palsy Association in Alberta to continue its mission of supporting and enriching the lives of people affected by cerebral palsy by delivering programs and services, educating and providing information on treatment and resources relating to CP - ultimately helping people affected by cerebral palsy achieve a life without limits.

We are truly grateful for our the generosity and dedication of our returning sponsors this year, Motion Specialties, CB Medical and Allergan/ Botox, who continue to support the CPAA and this event. For further event details, sponsorship and volunteer opportunities visit www.lifewithoutlimits.ca!

2008 Past News and Events

May 2008

2008 Life Without Limits Gala a HUGE Success!

The 2008 Life Without Limits Gala was truly an evening of endless possibilities. This 2 nd annual event, that took place May 9 th at the Deerfoot Inn & Casino, can most easily be described an evening of hope and inspiration as so clearly demonstrated by our co-emcees, Cory Johnson and Duncan Wyeth, along with our special guest Courtenay Sarvis, all who exemplify what it means to live a life without limits.

Not only did the event allow CPAA to raise awareness about who we are and what we do, but most importantly relationships where strengthened and new friendships and bonds were made. Ultimately, the 2008 Life Without Limits Gala gave us the opportunity to breakdown some of the misconceptions that exist regarding what it means to live with a disability and provide hope and inspiration to every single one of the attendees.

We’d like to sincerely thank our generous Gala sponsors – Sunlife Financial, Rotary Challenger Park and The Co-operators, as well as our committed and valued partners – Motion Specialties, CB Medical and Allergan/Botox. The gala would not have been the success that it was without their support, and the generosity of our community and for that we are truly grateful! Again, we thank you for helping us create a life without limits!

As funds are still coming in from the evening we ask that you stay tuned to the CPAA website (www.cpalberta.com) and the summer edition of the CPAA’s Journeys Newsletter to learn how much was raised from the Gala. In the meantime, we ask that you mark your calendar for the 2009 Life Without Limits Gala on Friday, May 8th !
