Donate Clothing
Since 1995, the Cerebral Palsy Association in Alberta, has been generating valuable funds through the collection of gently used clothing, household items and small pieces of furniture. The funds generated support the programs and services offered to individuals with cerebral palsy and other disabilities.
Last year, the CPAA diverted over 4,500,000 pounds of clothing and household items from our provincial landfills and continues to be an advocate for our environment through other recycling programs such as beverage containers, cell phones, pda’s, laptops and working with donatecar.ca
How to Donate
1. Free Home Pickups Currently the CPAA provides home pick ups in Edmonton and Calgary and surrounding areas. We will contact you to schedule a pick up, just let us know you have Items ready and we will book a date and time. CPAA makes routine calls to regular donors.
Residents can call CPAA @ 1.888.477.8030 or via email to arrange a pick up.
Mark your bags with an “X” to let us know what is a donation and what to leave behind. Please leave your donations at your front door. Our drivers complete your pick up anytime between 8AM and 8PM. If you have

2. In person Clothing bins are located throughout Alberta. Drop off your clothes by finding a clothing bin or attended donation centre near you.

Host a Clothing Bin
Why become a Clothing bin host?
- You are an advocate of recycling and protecting the environment
- Providing a convenient and well –administered recycling program for your community
- Having a bin onsite will positively impact your business, residential complex as well as the CPAA

Suggest a Clothing Bin Location
CPAA is very thankful for all of the incredibly loyal donors accross Alberta and appreciate that some of you travel significant distances to get to the closest CPAA bin. Many of you have moved and realized there is not a bin conveniently located for you. If you think your area would be a fantastic location to host a CPAA bin, please let us know.

Since 1995, the Cerebral Palsy Association in Alberta has partnered with Value Village. Clothing and household items donated are sold to Value Village. The Association is paid for the volume of goods delivered.
Revenues generated from the sale of these goods stay strictly in Alberta and help the CPAA provide education and awareness, services and advocacy to persons with cerebral palsy and other disabilities.
All donations made to the CPAA, regardless of being clothes, household items, bottles, small electronics or even your vehicle, helps our environment through recycling. Visit Website >
Community Partnerships
Are you looking for an easy way to fundraise and benefit the community? Why not organize a clothing drive in support of the Cerebral Palsy Association in Alberta. The CPAA will pay you a specified amount per bag collected.
How it works
1) Sign the partnership agreement
2) Set your pick up date
3) Advertise your clothing drive
4) Collect clothes and household items
5) CPAA picks up the donations

Acceptable Donation Items:
DONATION BINS, we accept the following items:
- Clothes (men, women and children’s)
- Accessories (ties, hats, belts, etc.)
- Footwear
- Bedding
- Draperies
- Towels
- Sleeping bags
HOME PICK UPS, we pick up the above plus:
- Sporting goods
- Toys and games
- Kitchen utensils
- Dishes
- Glassware
- Pots and pans
- Luggage
- Books
- CD’s, DVD’s and records
- Jewelery
- Stationary supplies
- Small furniture items
At our attended donation station or office, we accept all the above plus small pieces of furniture. All items must in reasonable condition and not stained, soiled or broken.
Non-Acceptable Donation Items
- Weapons, firearms, explosives
- Hazardous waste, batteries, chemicals, cleaning products
- Construction materials. Wood, pipes, doors, tubs, cabinets, etc
- Flammable products: gas cans, propane containers, barbeques, gas
- Lawn mowers, gas trimmers, etc
- Large appliances: refrigerators, stoves,, washing machines, dryers, heaters
- Automobile parts: tires, mufflers, fenders
- Damaged furniture
- Hide-a-beds
- Mattresses & Waterbeds
- Coil springs
- Stereo consoles
- Computer monitors (flat/LCD screen excluded)
- Car seats
- Cribs
- Carpets
- Large cloth furniture
Attendants and drivers have the right to politely refuse obviously unacceptable/non-sellable items.
