Adult Support Groups
These groups are for adults with cerebral palsy and other disabilities who wish to develop a social network and explore the community in a group setting. The group provides a private forum to seek advice as well as to develop strong bonds with others who have common interests. 

CALGARY

Tuesday @ 6:30pm - 8:30pm (w/ special events on other nights)

Various locations throughout the Calgary, based on activity chosen

Notes
Activities change week to week and have included: Dinner nights, movies, bowling, pub nights and guest speakers.

Support Services
Our services are built on Client Based Perspective in assessing needs and identifying the strengths in our members.
  • Provides one on one support to individuals and families going through the various stages of diagnoses, acceptance and living with cerebral palsy.
  • provides telephone support to members experiencing various forms of crisis.
  • Provides patient support in hospitals and home visits to adults and families.
  • Advocates for individuals and families with appeals to various agencies such as Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD), Alberta Aids for Daily Living (AADL), Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH), Person with Developmental Disabilities (PDD), Employment, School, Handi-bus, etc
  • Provides advocacy training to individuals and family members.
  • Develops relationships and collaborates with agencies to assist members with community issues, barriers and challenges so they can live a life without limits.
  • Assists in the development of local support groups.
