Recycle Your Bottles
The CPAA through the expansion of various recycling programs, has bridged the gap between our donors and our planet. The Beverage Container Recycling Program (BCRP) and the revenues it generates, support the many programs and services the CPAA offers to persons with cerebral palsy and other disabilities.
Approximately 15% of all beverage containers sold in Alberta are not returned to a depot. Plastics that are found in our landfills will still be there when our grandchildren reach our age. Materials such as Aluminum is 100% recyclable but when discarded can take up to 400 years to break down. By partnering with the Alberta Beverage Container Recycling Corp (ABCRC) and their Community Champions Program, the CPAA will help to further reduce CO2 emissions (green house gasses) and fulfill our vision of creating a life without limits for persons with cerebral palsy and other disabilities.

Mac’s Convenience Stores (Calgary Market) and the CPAA joined forces in June 2009 to help their customers and our donors further the recycling efforts in Alberta.
The Mac’s initial pilot project helped to reclaim 8,546 beverage containers. These containers were diverted from landing in our local landfills. The revenues generated through the Mac’s Recycling bins, support the many programs and services offered to persons with cerebral and other disabilities.
In March of 2010, due to the success of the pilot project, Mac’s Convenience Stores expanded the program and there are now 22 stores participating. Visit Website >
