Volunteer Opportunities in Calgary

The Cerebral Palsy Association in Alberta (CPAA) offers volunteer opportunities for one-time events, ongoing programs or office-based work. Volunteers play a fundamental role in the programs and services that we offer to our members and the community. Without volunteers, our weekly programs cannot run and there is an opportunity for individuals of all abilities to become volunteers.

By volunteering with us, you are a positive representation of our organization in the office, the community and especially in the lives of other people. Volunteering with the CPAA is an opportunity to use your personal interests and skills towards creating a Life without Limits for individuals with cerebral palsy and other disabilities.

  • To apply or for more information about any of the Calgary-based volunteer opportunities, please contact our Calgary volunteer coordinator at 403-219-1574 or Email.

Please note that CPAA programs have varied locations across the city, so inquire about the location of a specific program if you are interested in volunteering for, if the location is not listed.

Community Ambassadors

Do you enjoy being out in the community and engaging with the public? Are you looking for volunteer opportunities to fit into your busy schedule?

Last year, we collected over 3,500,000 pounds of reusable items and diverted them from Alberta landfills. In addition, we collected over 600,000 empty beverage containers, saving 235,105.5kWh of energy and 66,753.2kg of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG). Our Community Ambassadors advocate for needless waste, and encourage the public to donate their unwanted household goods to us, which is then converted into funding supporting our programs and services.

Community Ambassadors can work in teams or solo at a variety of year round initiatives:
– Attended Donation Station Ambassador (ADS) – Collect donations at our outdoor locations (Flexible, regular opportunities)
– Value Village Silver Springs: outreach, (weekly commitment, 4 hour shift)
– Spring Clean Up – Collect donations during the City of Calgary Spring Clean up Initiative. Be a presence to accept donations on behalf of CPAA. Great for a team!

Commitment is Flexible. Locations are varied across the city. Pick your project!
Support: Training for this position will be provided

If you love swimming and are interested in helping one of our “Little Nemos” learn to love swimming too, this is the perfect opportunity! Want to experience something different every week?
