Empowering Alberta

twosided empower alberta post card 2 1 for website

Empowering Calgary and Empowering Edmonton have now been joined under the umbrella of Empowering Alberta. The inspirational speaking event will now alternate each year between the two cities.

This year, Empowering Alberta will take place on November 17, 2014 in Edmonton at the Matrix Hotel.

Empowering Alberta is a grassroots event about people. Alberta is an amazing province with amazing people and this event is about Albertans empowering Albertans. Right in our back yard we have some of the most talented people in the world and this event showcases some of that talent whether its renowned speakers, musical entertainers, or just everyday people with a great story to share that inspire others to be better people. For more information about this year's event and to purchase tickets, please visitwww.empoweringalberta.com

The Cerebral Palsy Association in Alberta is presenting a chance for you to get involved in a health and fitness initiative that supports a great local cause. We are inviting local and national organizations, families, students, and communities toStep It Up with us! Steptember gives participants an opportunity to form a team, get active, have fun, and also support a nonprofit organization through fundraising.

  • Steptember is an exciting four week team activity that runs for the month of September across Canada and the world.
  • Steptember requires participants to form a team of four. Each team member will then track their daily step count (by wearing a pedometer) or other fitness activity, and record their progress on their personalized Steptember webpage.
  • Participants can also run, cycle, or swim to reach their daily step target. There are over forty activities to choose from, including activities suitable for people with a disability.
  • Participants will be encouraged to fundraise from the time they register until the end of the event, with all proceeds going toward helping people with cerebral palsy and other disabilities.
  • Once a team is registered, each participant will be sent a “Steptember Kit” which will include a pedometer.

Sign up your team at www.steptember.ca

We would love for your organization to sign up for Steptember and encourage staff to do the same. Steptember has been designed to give teams the tools to create a healthier lifestyle, and an opportunity to give back to their local communities.
