A Week of Community, Connection and Celebration in Edmonton

2 min read

Last week, the Edmonton community showed us once again what can happen when people come together with a shared purpose.

Over the course of two days, CP Alberta hosted two special events that brought together golfers, community members, supporters, donors, volunteers and advocates - all in support of individuals and families living with disabilities across Alberta.

A Day on the Course

Monday kicked off with our 2nd Annual Golf Without Limits Edmonton Tournament at Cattail Crossing Golf & Winter Club.

It was a chilly and windy start to the morning, but thankfully the sun eventually made an appearance—and so did plenty of smiles!

The tournament was about much more than a day of golf. It was an opportunity to connect with old friends, meet new people, enjoy some friendly competition and come together in support of CP Alberta.

We are grateful to everyone who hit the course, sponsored a hole, donated prizes, volunteered their time or helped make the tournament possible. Your support helped make the day a memorable one.

An Inspiring Morning

The following morning, we gathered for our Empowering Edmonton Breakfast - a very different setting, but with the same incredible sense of community.

Over a warm breakfast and a few mimosas, guests had the opportunity to connect, learn more about CP Alberta and hear from our inspiring keynote speaker, Alvin Law.

The morning sparked conversations about possibility, resilience and creating opportunities for people with disabilities to live, learn and participate fully in their communities.

It was a wonderful reminder that events like this aren't just about fundraising. They're also about bringing people together, sharing stories and helping more people understand the work we do and why it matters.

Together, We Raised More Than $23,000

While the two events looked very different, they shared one important goal: supporting our community.

Together, Golf Without Limits and the Empowering Edmonton Breakfast raised more than $23,000 to help CP Alberta continue providing programs, services and support for individuals and families across Alberta.

Thank You, Edmonton!

None of this would have been possible without the people who showed up and supported us.

To our sponsors, donors, golfers, volunteers, speakers, guests and community partners - thank you. Thank you for giving your time, sharing your generosity and believing in the work of CP Alberta.

Most importantly, thank you for being part of a community that believes in inclusion, opportunity and a future where people with disabilities can live full and meaningful lives.

We are so grateful for the Edmonton community and for everyone who helped make these two events such a success.

We acknowledge that what we call Alberta is the traditional and ancestral territory of many peoples, presently subject to Treaties 6, 7, and 8. Namely: the Blackfoot Confederacy – Kainai, Piikani, and Siksika – the Cree, Dene, Saulteaux, Nakota Sioux, Stoney Nakoda, and the Tsuu T’ina Nation and the Métis People of Alberta. This includes the Métis Settlements and the Six Regions of the Métis Nation of Alberta within the historical Northwest Metis Homeland. We acknowledge the many First Nations, Métis and Inuit who have lived in and cared for these lands for generations. We are grateful for the traditional Knowledge Keepers and Elders who are still with us today and those who have gone before us. We make this acknowledgement as an act of reconciliation and gratitude to those whose territory we reside on or are visiting.
