Opportunity for kids: Apply to participate in accessible news feedback sessions

CBC Kids News is excited to invite children to apply to participate in upcoming feedback sessions that will help us shape our content!

We are specifically looking for kids and teens ages 11 to 16 who are Deaf and/or living with a disability and live in Canada.

Participants will have an opportunity to share their thoughts and ideas about news and digital accessibility with a group of CBC Kids News journalists.

The deadline to apply is July 24, 2025.

We will also accommodate applications over email or by phone for anyone who has issues accessing or using the online form.

All applicants will be required to demonstrate parent or guardian permission to be considered for participation. Selected participants who attend our onsite sessions at CBC on Aug. 13 will need to be accompanied by an adult.

All questions should be emailed to cbckidsnews@cbc.ca.

We acknowledge that what we call Alberta is the traditional and ancestral territory of many peoples, presently subject to Treaties 6, 7, and 8. Namely: the Blackfoot Confederacy – Kainai, Piikani, and Siksika – the Cree, Dene, Saulteaux, Nakota Sioux, Stoney Nakoda, and the Tsuu T’ina Nation and the Métis People of Alberta. This includes the Métis Settlements and the Six Regions of the Métis Nation of Alberta within the historical Northwest Metis Homeland. We acknowledge the many First Nations, Métis and Inuit who have lived in and cared for these lands for generations. We are grateful for the traditional Knowledge Keepers and Elders who are still with us today and those who have gone before us. We make this acknowledgement as an act of reconciliation and gratitude to those whose territory we reside on or are visiting.
